It features valuable objects from 26 African countries, based on the collections of the prestigious researcher Fernando Ortiz and the African collection of President Fidel Castro.

The institution conducts research into the nations  represented in its collections, especially those that have had a direct influence on the
culture of Cuba. 

Africa house preserves a great many ethnographic pieces because they represent invaluable practical laboratories for theoretical ethnographic
conceptions. Its advisory council is made up of specialists from the different social sciences, who provide valuable professional support for the work of the instution.

The Africa House Museum is an important study center and a place where researchers, ethnologists, linguists and students of
African and Afro-Cuban history can present their findings.

-Pieces from 26 African countries
-Presents given to President Fidel Castro by heads of state and distinguished personalities from Africa
-Objects used in Afro-Cuban religions
