Restaurants
Old City of Havana
Regions of Cuba - Travel Guide

Our criteria for selecting restaurants include food quality, prices and general atmosphere.  Always verify your check.  The standard tip in Cuba is 10%.

CUBAN FOOD

Café Taberna
One of Old Havana's best-kept secrets and most interesting spots. Located on Plaza Vieja in the Juan Bautista Tavern (c.1772), this café is dedicated to the memory of the famous singer Benny Moré.  Starting at 11:00 am every day, one of three groups plays traditional Cuban music from the 40s and 50s.  The food is inexpensive, delicious and original.

El Patio
One of the nicest places to have a drink and enjoy lunch outside in Old Havana.  Located just beside the Cathedral.

La Mina
Is a fun place to have a lunch. You've got to taste its great ice cream! Located at Plaza de Armas, Calle Oficio

INTERNATIONAL CUISINE

Café Oriente
A very nice place to enjoy a dinner or lunch.  The luxurious second floor is quite expensive but on the first floor you can savour a good meal at a reasonable price.  Facing the cruiseship terminal, it is located on the strategic Plaza de San Francisco de Asís.

Roof Garden
With its wonderful view of the Capitol, this restaurant, located on the top floor of the Hotel Sevilla, offers food prepared by a French chef.  Traditional Cuban dances are performed on Fridays (6:30 pm to 11:00 pm).  The Roof Garden is wonderful place to splurge.

ITALIAN FOOD

D'Giovanni
Authentic Italian meals are served in this very nice old building facing Havana's bay. You may enjoy the view and the food on one of its small balconies.  The restaurant is located on Tacón esquina a Empredrado, only a few meters from the Cathedral.

SPANISH FOOD

La Zaragozana
This restaurant serves respectable Spanish dishes and seafood.  A great Flaminco show is presented every Thursday and Saturday night.  The Zaragozana is located near the famous Floridita on Calle Monserrate entre Obispo y Obrapía.

SEAFOOD

La Divina Pastora
One of Havana's most famous seafood restaurants is located on the other side of the bay in the Morro fortress, facing Old Havana.

ARAB FOOD

Al Medina
This is the place to eat something different in Old Havana.  The restaurant is located on Calle Oficios entre Obispo y Obrapia.
