Over 1,500 pieces are grouped in a historical chronology based on the different periods of the nation's development: colonial, Republic in rebellion, US intervention, pseudo- republic, insurrection and revolutionary Cuba. Among the more interesting pieces in the collection are 20 very valuable gold coins. Also on exhibit are medals, decorations, tokens that were issued at sugar mills for the "company store," paper money, bonds, lottery tickets, numismatic documents and counterfeits detected in the country. Some of the other collections include bills and coins from other parts of the world, some very old, valuable private collections, and rare coins. Collections:
