Museums and Art Galleries - Old City of Havana Regions of Cuba - Travel Guide An old episcopal palace still preserving the atmosphere of an 18th-century cloister is home to a museum devoted entirely to perfumes. Perfumes have always been a predilection with Cubans. From the times when grandmothers filled chests and wardrobes with aromatic mint leaves and families gathered in their inner courtyards under the fragrance of tropical trees, perfume has provided a pleasurable respite in a land of endless summers. Hence, perfume has its very own museum, located in a Sevillian courtyard that features a fountain, a well and a grapevine. The collections include a varied sample consisting of 19th- century perfume bottles found in archaeological excavations and different lines of perfumes and toiletry from the early 20th century up to the present day. The museum showcases a collection of French perfumes, and Suchel, the national perfume and toiletry firm, presents its complete production line on the premises as well. Collections:
